Asked to reflect on the pieces in the collection that are most meaningful to her, Michelle identified the “You Are Strong” and “Live For Today” pieces. The fact that both were created at an incredibly difficult time in her life speaks to the strength, passion, and motivation of this artist. Battling genetic cancer and recently losing her beloved family dog, Toby, Michelle said: “In my life of many blessings and current trials, these two canvases are a reflection of my heart – my love of family, life, and nature; my perseverance and gratitude for today; my passion for art, photography, and design; and the legacy I want to leave through my faith and creativity.” The timing of this project with FOREVER was especially poignant for Michelle and helped her grieve, tested her strength, and gave her inspiration and a tremendous sense of satisfaction upon completion. 

Michelle founded CottageArts.net in 2003 and has been a part of the FOREVER team of digital artists since 2013. Michelle has over 1400 pieces of art currently for sale through FOREVER. A pioneer in the digital art industry, Michelle was the Digital Product Director for Creative Memories from 2006-2007. She helped design the original StoryBook Creator Photo Book Software for Creative Memories, as well as Panstoria, which FOREVER acquired in 2014 and renamed FOREVER Artisan. The newest version, Artisan 6 Full Release, was just released November 4, 2021 by FOREVER. 

About her artistic process, Michelle says, “the words often speak first” and then she pairs the quote or verse she finds particularly inspirational with a photo or piece of art that evokes those same feelings. “It’s the blending of both that helps tell the deeper story – words alone are not enough.”  Michelle’s tag line, Simply Done. CottageArts.net, LLC Founder/Creator, Michelle Shefveland, has loved photography, illustration, paper and fiber arts since her teen years, which evolved into a career as a graphic artist, photographer, and writer.
